We are big fans of our GAINZlete, Christina Bangma, at GAINZ Meal Prep. Fans because she puts in the hard work consistently. Something that I know I am not so good at. I am more of a "sprinting hard worker." I work hard for months but, for whatever reason, I fall off the wagon. Sometimes it's the busy mom-life, the exhaustion from working all day, the need to "treat myself" because "I deserve it" or it's simply the holiday season and "why not." So there I went, plummeting off the health and wellness wagon.... and I never seem to recover before I gain back that 10 lbs I'd worked so hard to eliminate.
Lucky for GAINZ that Chad is similar in character. I say "lucky" because he loves great tasting food, pursues creating it, and GAINZ benefits from the results of all the good stuff. He and his wife always come up with the most delectable recipes, try them out, and then shortly thereafter they show up in the GAINZ kitchen. Its a wonderful process! But it has it's consequences when there is no balance.
January 3rd Chad and I decided to face the music and get our bodies analyzed at Complete Nutrition in Fort Wayne. It is completely free and totally worth it. I say this even after getting the news that I weighed more than I ever have (not counting pregnancy) and my body fat was higher than its ever been.
Chad also received similar crappy news.
The good news: both of our muscle mass was above average -- so we had that going for us.
We agreed it was time to buckle down and start again. Our agreement is to count our macros for the next two weeks, get back on a regular workout / yoga schedule and then go back for our recheck. Stay tuned to see if we can both stay on the straight and narrow for the next two weeks.
