Meet Sam everyone!
"Hi! I’m Sam, your go-to nutrition gal for GAINZ Meal Prep. I’m about to graduate Arizona State University where I’ll be receiving my Bachelors Degree in Nutrition. My journey has been anything but conventional. I grew up in a small town outside of Boston, Massachusetts. After I graduated, I decided that I needed a change in life, and what better change than to move across the country and see if I could do this whole adult thing on my own. I started school at Arizona State University and then took a little hiatus do some soul searching, work and help pay for school. During this time I received my real estate license with an architecturally focused firm. I learned a lot about myself during this time and soon realized that my passion isn’t with real estate but with nutrition. That was when I decided to go back to school and finish my degree. This was the best decision I could have made. I was living with my boyfriend, Luke, in sunny Scottsdale when he received a promotion in Fort Wayne, IN. This was a no-brainer for him, as a born-bred Hoosier, and his entire growing family still residing in Indy. I had some hesitations at first, but then I figured, why not? So I packed my stuff, and moved to Fort Wayne. I have to admit, the transition was anything but easy at first. What made this town feel like home was the warm, kind, and welcoming people that live here.
I found GAINZ when I was looking for a company for which to intern. I knew I wanted to intern somewhere that incorporated healthy living and eating. When I found GAINZ was immediately drawn to the company’s mission and goals. I reached out to Chad and Jordan and practically begged them to take me as an intern. I came in eager to learn and willing to help wherever I could. Since day one, this team has been nothing short of incredible - from the high energy kitchen, to the meticulously thought out menu - this team truly has a special family dynamic. After my internship, I was lucky enough to be hired on full time. I could not be more excited to be a part of a team that is here to change peoples lives by providing healthy, convenient meals.
I’m currently enrolled in a nutrition counseling program and will be getting my Registered Dietitian license in the near future. In the mean time, I plan to continue learning about the ways we can use food as medicine and healing through a holistic approach. My goal is to let people know that eating healthy doesn’t have to be this overwhelming and intimidating topic. If anything, less is more. I hope to inspire people to eat healthier and reach their goals so they can live their best life and be the best version of themselves.
